Description

This is based on Paul Curry’s Swindle Cut which is detailed in World’s Beyond (pg. 245) under A Swindle of Sorts and originally appeared in Paul Curry Presents c. 1974. In the 1990’s Al Lagomarsino created a version with Tarot cards called: Tarot Surprise and it appears in Tannen’s Catalog #18 c. 1995.  Wild Magic saw Al’s version and do credit Al for his idea and hopefully Al thanked Mr. Curry too 🙂

The Jumbo cards are well made and continue with the Harry Potter theme that Wild Magic wisely pursued in the earl 2000’s.  Any version of this effect looks very clean and convincing and with these laminated Jumbo cards they can be seen throughout the audience and look great.

Effect: The magician shows the backs of two different color sets of cards. The spectator selects one of the sets to be shuffled by the magician. The cards of both sets are then dealt face up into two piles to show that all 10 of the cards in each set have a different magical symbol on them.

However because one set has been shuffled, the order of the cards in each set is completely different.

The spectator again chooses one of the piles and the magician mixes the cards per the instructions of the spectator.

When the cards from both sets are dealt face-up this time, the cards have arranged themselves into matching pairs of symbols.

Remember! These cards can be handed out for examination afterwards!
