Description
The wallet is a pocket secretary type wallet with a pocket on the exterior of the wallet to hold an identification card. This pocket has a transparent window.
Just like all of Roy Roth’s wallets, it is a very made and works smoothly. The Billy Me Comb routine is quite different because it uses a credit card instead of a playing card. But as Billy explains below the use of a credit card has a lot going for it.
Billy McComb’s routine which follows uses the wallet and a borrowed credit card. It is a well thought out professional presentation and does not require any reset. Despite Billy’s strong argument for using the credit card, and with different routining, the wallet could, of course be used for a playing card to wallet effect.

Apart from being an extremely fast loader, this wallet has the added advantage of no resetting, making it perfect for table hopping if you do restaurant work or simply wondering about a crowd. Billy McComb was so impressed, he wrote a routine specially for us, which we include. One of the problems of working table to table, is people do sometimes follow you around. If you perform the same effect over and over, with the same ending, it won’t take long for the ‘followers’ to catch on. Luckily, this is not a problem with this wallet as no force is needed! Yet, the chosen and possibly signed card appears inside an inner compartment, sealed by a press-stud! The card can be seen clearly though a window in the wallet, before the compartment is opened, so there is no argument about last minute swapping!

Here, working around “The Magic Castle”, there is a lot of work in the so called “Walk-around-magic” field. The curse about doing a “Card in Wallet” or similar routine is that you have to sneak off to one side and reload the wallet with an envelope after every time you show it.
For a “Card in Wallet” you also need to carry a deck of cards and something to sign the card with, or else a packet of stickers to apply a signed sticker. For a close-up type magician, you really need all the spare pocket space you can get. Here’s how I cut down and get myself something that can’t be judged as “Just another card trick”.
Years back in the 1960’s I put a credit card in wallet in the “Magigram” using a wallet manufactured by Roy Roth, which by common usage is now referred to as the “Seabrooke” Wallet. I always felt that this was the first credit card in wallet and still do. The thing about the credit card is that it is already signed and is valuable and personal to the owner. This you can’t say about a chosen card. Signed or not.
